Favorite newer restaurant discovery in the last six months?
Fattoush.

Current culinary crush (e.g., chef, dish on the menu, food trend in the city)?
Mojo and Yogurtland. We can’t get enough Fro Yo.

Favorite newer nightspot discovery in the last six months?
Hanny’s in Downtown Phoenix. It’s a restaurant, but they play some pretty amazing music, and the food/vibe is great.

Your favorite wine bar, dive bar, and/or coffee shop in town that you’d recommend right now?
The Hidden House on 7th Avenue and Osborn. They always play great hip hop and the drinks are cheap.

Favorite sommelier and/or bartender right now?
The lady who bartends at The Hidden House. We don’t know her name but she pours a stiff drink!

What’s your idea of a perfect low-key night out on the town?
Dinner at Postino on Central then off to First Fridays or a movie.

What’s your idea of painting the town?
Dive bar hunting. We used to be loyal to Chez Nous and Glam, both in Central and Downtown Phoenix. R.I.P. We like to do things that are off the beaten path.

What’s your favorite hole-in-the-wall/hidden gem hangout in town and why?
The Cornish Pasty in Tempe. Also a restaurant, but you walk in and it looks like you’ve completely transported yourself out of Arizona. The music again is great and so is the food.

Favorite spot for live music right now?
We like the Marquee Theatre in Tempe since Wu-Tang Clan and Too Short seem to consistently perform there. The Rhythm Room is cool, too.

Favorite local musician, band and/or DJ right now?
DJ Fashen hands down (who recently moved to Los Angeles). Residing IN Phoenix, would be: William Reed, Mikee Mike, Bigie, M2, and the ladies of JUICEBOX (KGB and Ms. Robs).

Where do you go for a dose of culture (museum, gallery, performing arts venue, etc.)?
Perihelion Arts and The Phoenix Art Museum

Latest cultural find?
The Modern Phoenix Home Tour

Where/how do you work on your fitness?
One of us does yoga (Bikram Yoga on Central), another does the Wii fit, and the last DOESN’T work on fitness.

Favorite salon and/or spa for primping and pampering?
Salon Tru on Indian School and Marshall Way in Scottsdale. We’re loyal to Tina Figueroa, the greatest hair stylist EVER.

Favorite newer local hotel for a “staycation” and why?
We like the San Carlos, although it’s not new by any means. It’s beautiful in a “Shining” kind of way … we love spooky.

Favorite newer local boutique or store to shop right now?
High Point Shoes in Scottsdale, MePhi on Mill Avenue in Tempe, and Phoenicia Association in Downtown.

Local fashion designer/jewelry designer/ on your radar right now?
Yardley December and Tiffe Fermaint. Both edgy, feminine, and the biggest sweethearts!

You don’t have to name specific businesses, but what are one or two trends in the city that you hope will die and die soon?
We hate to see a lot of rhinestones, heavy embellishments, or gaudy logos on clothing. It’s just too much and people here STILL seem to love it.

Favorite emerging artist, architect, interior designer, and/or graphic designer?
Alyisse Tramel a.k.a Isse Fresh for his visual artistry, Sean Lyles, Evan Taylor Gunville, and Michael Franco for photography, and Meanmugg Graphics.

Preferred place to shop for home furnishings/accents?
It used to be Haus Modern Living (R.I.P.). We love Design Within Reach, Red Modern Furniture, and because our website puts a heavy emphasis on bargain shopping, we’re loyal to Target and various dollar stores.
